Thanks for the kind reply! I look forward to seeing your website flourish with more information and studies. At the moment, the geocache idea has kind of parked itself in the back of my mind as I work on more important things, such as school. I have thought about data-mining geocache locations for specific regions in the world, much like you have. I hope we can learn something from each other as time moves on! I will be in touch via email with you shortly.
Cheers,
Michael
]]>I’m also working on my site ” I Geo Puerto Rico” (www.igeopr.com). It is three things really: a Geotourism site, a Geocaching site, and there’s a GIS section which will mostly have Python script tools. I made a geodatabase of all 630 caches hidden in the island with a wide range of attributes including links to see those places in Google Maps and Geocaching’s own web map. Also built a web map in ArcGIS Online where I categorized all places where caches are hidden (within a geotourism spectrum). And of course, spatial analysis, it is points with x,y that where talking about!
I will be visiting your site for ideas. My site is not ready yet ready by any means but there’s a few stuff to see right now. If you see any need, put it up in Google Translate until I add a gadget for that. Cheers.
